Do I need a fishing license?

No. Your charter covers all fishing licenses for everyone on board, including Gulf reef-fish coverage. Just bring yourself.

What's included in the price?

Everything: licenses, rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice, bottled water, and catch cleaning back at the dock. The only extra is a customary 15–20% tip.

Sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a hat, snacks and drinks (small cooler welcome), and a cooler in your car for fillets. Deck shoes or sneakers — no flip-flops.

What if the weather's bad?

The captain makes the call for safety. If we cancel for weather, we reschedule or refund — your choice. Hurricane season runs June–November and we watch it closely.

Is catching fish guaranteed?

Honest answer: no charter can guarantee a catch. What we can promise is a captain who knows these reefs, quality gear, and everything we can do to put you on fish.

All Reef Reaper trips leave from and return to the barn — our home slip at Pensacola Marine Center, 700 Myrick Street, Pensacola, Florida 32505 — a full-service marina in the protected deep-water channels of Bayou Chico, minutes from downtown. Free parking at the marina. Arrive 15 minutes early; the boat's the white 27' Sea Hunt with the Reef Reaper sailfish on the side — you can't miss it.

When is the best time of year to fish in Pensacola?

Fishing is good all year, but the most popular window is May through October: red snapper season opens in early summer, mahi-mahi and king mackerel peak through summer and fall, the spring cobia run hits March–May, and September–October brings gag grouper and amberjack seasons with lighter crowds.
